1-0 Win

It Started so well 4th minute Theo slotted us infront, and then we just went flat for another 80 or so minutes, half time came chance to rally the troops tell them to get their ass in gear and start showing your worth, we sub of Gibbs for Djorou because of a hamstring injury, only for Djorou to pick up a hamstring injury 10 minutes later, so on comes Jenkinson under experienced, young, and not that convincing for me, then cam the 85th minute or so and on comes Frimpong for Rosicky who had another dissapointing performance in truth maybe he just doesn't have it anymore, understandable after an almost 2 year hell of injuries; I feel once Frimpong came on we picked it up a bit, you could hear is desire to get things moving instantly all be it conceding 2 fouls back to back, but when he was in the ball he would give go and call loudly till he got it back, he looks composed, powerful and full of talent, With Song suspended the next 3 domestic games one can assume that Frimpong will be the starter in 3 very important games.

In conclusion this tie is long from done i would have been a lot more sure of us if Handanovic didn't pull out a top class save in extra time. I will leave you with fuck Song its all about Frimpong

Arsenal

So want an earth is going on with Arsenal I mean, why are we selling our players and not buying replacements and if it is one thing we have learnt it would have to be that, it is all well and good having youngsters who are talented but we need to actually have somebody proven and ready to play at the highest level, for example a Sneijder.

Another thing that is annoying me is i am sick of seeing this stupid formation not bring us end products best season by any team for about a century was the Invincibles IMO and they played the 4-4-2 why dont we go back to that because playing this formation has brought us no trophies and somehow since switching to it we have been plagued by injury, it is time for Arsenal to screw their heads on buy replacements fast and sort out the tactics for god sake.

I am not sure whether or not the other 2 people will be posting on here or not anymore, but i intend to start up posting again, so the site may change a bit but im sure your not that fussed anyway, thanks for reading and goodbye

Emirates Cup 2010

So with just a couple of weeks till the beautiful game gets underway and the Emirates Cup is over for another year and this year possibly the biggest fuss ever has been made over it, It is almost as if it is a trophy that actually matters.

Yes I enjoy the tournament, yes there is good opposition, but really does anybody not involved in the tournament actually care about it no, lets be honest for a second would the Emirates cup even exist if Arsenal didn't have a "break up" with trophies in my opinion I doubt it.

On a lighter note we won GET IN!!!!, but seriously unfortunately for the first time in its four years existence I was unable to attend and I was pretty gutted about that however after seeing the results out of 4 games there was only 1 win it seems that the highlight of the tournament yet again belonged to Jack Wilshere and his magnificent volley that was superbly tipped onto the bar.

At the end of a what should of been a spectacular tournament Arsenal narrowly held of a late surge from Celtic to lift the pre-season tournament in a 3-2 victory, arsenal took a 3-0 lead with goals from vela, sagna and nasri. after a very silly penalty given away by Wilshere, it was sent a mile over the bar by exit man city striker Samaras, Celtic rallied to pull it back to 3-2 but to no avail.

On the opening day we saw Chamakh net for the Gunners on his home debut with a nice finish, and a Pato ruin everybody's day and equalise for AC Milan, after Celtic succeeded that day to stage a late comeback and draw 2-2 with Lyon.

Something I did notice was Theo Walcott being so much more decisive on the ball, making a lot of good runs and delivering the goods, and at one point I recall him cutting apart the Celtic back line driving to the line and pulling the ball back to the penalty spot but nobody was there, something that bugged me about the commentary on the games was that they said on that occasion Theo's ball was not good enough I beg to differ I think it was a great ball he put it where any good striker should be waiting.

Yet another good tournament for Jack Wilshere who has been the main story for the last 2 years with Emmanuel Frimpong putting in some good performances, but what made me happy was Chamakh showing he is willing to chase the ball upfront track back and has good positional awareness.

But for now that is all I have to say on the Emirates cup and hopefully at the end of the season it will be a slightly more significant trophy they are doing a lap of honour for instead of this.

My next piece will be on my predictions for La Liga till then its been sweet

Jack Wilshere

Hello again, since my last post was solely based on La Liga I thought this piece I would base around my beloved Arsenal, and in particular Jack Wilshere.

Little has been seen of Jack Wilshere in the Arsenal first team sure, the odd substitute appearance here and there, the Carling cup and pre-season but other than that not much.

In the January transfer window he went on loan to Bolton Wanderers and had a successful string of starting appearances and even netted a goal, amazing as it is for an Arsenal fan to be happy Bolton scored a goal what I find amazing is in competitive matches for Arsenal he has played 15 games and got 1 goal and 1 assist which he equalled in his 14 games on loan to Bolton.

This young man has raised a lot of eyes and made many people pay attention, he impressed Owen Coyle (Bolton manager) so much that there is talk of him going back on loan at Bolton this time for the entire season not just half. I for one do not want to see this happen because I think this young man could play a large role in this years battle for a trophy.

With his keen eye for a pass, his surprising strength and his eager approach to tackling he carries a large threat to the opposition, however this is far from an article licking his ass, as impressive as this young man is he does have his downsides, his most visible being his one-sidedness the 18 year old seems to only want to use his left foot it is as if his right does not exist in his mind, which at times means he goes back due to his one footed play style, however he has shown that even with one foot he is a magnificent player so I could only imagine how good he would be if he improved his right foot.

Another thing that says a lot is the fact he is an 18 year old Englishman at Arsenal only six days older than me, Arsene Wenger must see something spectacular in him because he is still at Arsenal, we all know le boss' approach to selling English players but I stray from the topic, with age on his side (probably his left), talent most certainly in his locker and the surrounded by international stars who play such beautiful football he has got role models in the game.

As I look ahead to the Emirates cup, I know probably the only silverware Arsenal will win this year and even thats not certain with AC Milan turning up, I certainly expect and hope to see this wonder kid as I was there last year when he destroyed Rangers almost single handedly, so I will leave you with a video of that game and hopefully I will see Jack Wilshere starting and ending the premier league campaign in an Arsenal shirt not a Bolton shit but ones thing for sure no matter what club shirt this young man wears the England shirt is definatly in his future.

here is the game mentioned above
may I suggest you watch without the sound no offence but Americans can not do football commentary.

for now thats all

Transfer News from La Liga

For a long time now La Liga has been seen as the place of one team in Real Madrid with the galacticos era they were unchallenged the players such as Zidane, Figo, Ronaldo that brought the attraction to La Liga, most people see Spanish football as the place where diving is born, however I believe that it is the birth place of beautiful football as if you watch a game of Spanish football you see flare, attacking fast paced football come to life, and that is why I have always admired La Liga. So without further ado i bring to you the transfer news of La Liga.

Well ironically the first bit of transfer news covers both my beloved Arsenal and La Liga and that of course is the ever so dragging on saga of Francesc Fabregas. this transfer ordeal has been going since mid-March and it is the biggest of non-stories in my opinion, for months now all you have heard is how Barcelona have wanted to sign Fabregas, from club presidents to players saying how they admire the player, the likes of Puyol, Messi, Pique, Busquets, Iniesta and of course the man that is like a watch battery and never stops XAVI day after day it seems that man has had another interview about Fabregas, however when Arsenal came out with a public statement rejecting the bid by the Catalonian club and the final sentence read

"In response, we immediately and resolutely told them once again we have no intention of selling our captain.
To be clear, we will not make any kind of counterproposal or enter into any discussion.

Barcelona have publicly stated that they will respect our position and we expect that they will keep their word".

If you were as naive as me in thinking that the matter was done and dusted then you were wrong because Barcelona did not respect Arsenal position and are continuously enquired about Arsenals captain. a final word on this after the drama over Fabregas being FORCED into a Barcelona shirt, I do not think that Fabregas will be at the Nou Camp next year or the year after that or at anytime whilst he is contracted at the Emirates stadium.

In La Liga transfer news Barcelona have signed Sevilla's Adriano, for a reported 9.5 million euros with an additional 4 million euros based on the players performances, the 25 year old has passed his medical and has signed a reported 4 year deal.

Zlatan Ibrahimavic of Barcelona has put a quash to rumours of him moving away the 28 year old Swedish international has had this to say on his future

"I was a Barca player when I left (to go on holiday) and I'll be a Barca player when I go back.

"I have four years left on my contract.

"I want to congratulate everybody that has used my name, because it's fun to have been at Chelsea, at Manchester City, without having been there!"

Guti of Real Madrid is said to be enthusiastic about joining Besiktas, the 33 year old who has spent his career at Madrid, one of his main motivations of joining Besiktas is their coach Bernd Schuster who he previously worked with at Madrid.

Aliaksander Hleb's agent has not ruled out his player joining Italian outfit AC Milan, the Belarusian playmaker joined Barcelona from Arsenal but has never found his place and was loaned out to former club Stuttgart last season the team he did play for before betraying sorry leaving Arsenal.

And finally Juventus have made an offer for Atletico Madrid's Diego Forlan it is reportedly £17 million which could be the most they have sold a player for in their history.

Well thats all for me for now

Downfall of Serie A?

Ever since I've been young i have admired the big hitters of Serie A, most importantly AC Milan and Juventus. This was due to the fact of the skill and simple pace of this league which showed how a players in this league could create an art with a ball. As of recent i have been concerned with this type of play due to the fact it is being out played by a faster stronger type of game. Many people could also believe that the Serie A has hit a downfall because of the Calciopoli. This has clearly effected the Serie A due to the lack of current interest.

On the other hand, Inter Milan did win the champions league this year showing that maybe there isn't a problem within this matter. Yet i believe the talent leaving Serie A and being linked away will be too critical for the league and with Serie A having a very aging group of stars who are clearly going past their prime. With stars like Pirlo and Zanetti at an old age of 31 and 36, it brings in to question when the younger stars will shine on the main stage. With younger stars such as Hamsik and Pato playing games regularly bring in to question when other young stars such as Giovinco and Balotelli when will they actually play for the first team all the time.

With transfers looming we have seen the young talented Cavani join Napoli linking up another young star in Hamsik showing that maybe Napoli could be a future contender for the Serie A title as they look the build for the future. AC Milan are also looking to make things look even worse to their aging squad by adding Alyaksandr Hleb to their team. Which confuses me quiet abit. Player of the world cup Forlan has also been linked to join to Juvetus which should be a good option to sort their striking problems out with the aging Trezequet linked with a move away.

Finally, I some how believe that the aging stars could actually show the young stars of Serie A how to play with Antonio Di Natale scoring an impressive 29 goals last season giving him the top goal scorer award being at the age of 32. Also the skillful Diego Milito scoring 22 and being at the age of 31 showing younger players how to do it. Maybe the Serie A will just be a place where teams from Europe can just head hunt other players which could therefore lead to the downfall of the Serie A
